OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – August 17, 2006 – Chaparral Energy, Inc. announced today that the Company's Post-Effective Amendment No. 1 to Registration Statement on Form S-4 relating to the exchange offer for its 8½% Senior Notes due 2015 has been declared effective and that the Company has filed with the SEC a related final prospectus dated August 17, 2006. This prospectus contains unaudited interim financial statements and information relating to the Company's results of operations and financial condition as of and for the three and six-month periods ended June 30, 2006. This prospectus does not contain any material change to the terms of the exchange offer set forth in the Company's prospectus dated July 19, 2006.

Subsequent to the filing of this prospectus, the Company has also extended the expiration time and expiration date of the exchange offer from Friday, August 18, 2006 to 5:00 P.M. New York City time on Monday, August 21, 2006. This extension is being made to allow The Depository Trust Company (DTC) participants and other Holders (as defined in the Letter of Transmittal for the exchange offer) currently holding notes in integral multiples of less than $2,000 to tender notes in accordance with the terms of the Indenture dated as of December 1, 2005 relating to the notes.

To facilitate the completion of the exchange offer for all of the notes, the Company is hereby notifying Holders that the Company will waive the current exchange offer requirement that Holders tender notes in integral multiples of $2,000, but only to the extent aggregate tenders by each DTC participant or other Holder, and any related issuances of the exchange notes by the Trustee, are in integral multiples of $2,000 and are otherwise made in accordance with the terms of the Indenture; provided, the Company reserves the right in its sole discretion to reject any such tender(s) to the extent such tender, individually or collectively with any other tenders, would not allow the Company and the Trustee to comply with the terms of the Indenture in connection with the issuance of the exchange notes.
